The play’s the thing!

Hamlet was a triumph! At such young ages, all the boys were able to play their roles with mature insightfulness which was, at times, breath-taking. This is, as we know, not just a story of revenge but explores, too, themes of indecisiveness, apparent madness, the complexity of action, the mystery of death and the symbolism of a rotten nation. Not easy themes for ten to eleven-year-old boys to get to grips with. Yet, they did with such great aplomb! We are all well-aware that we have many talkative St Edward’s boys but, who knew, we had a cast of boys with such unbelievable powers to communicate? We are proud of how our small school pulled-off this production and now, just for a while, ‘the rest is silence’!
