Sport’s Report

U8 v St Neot’s

We must say thank you to St Neots for hosting us so that we could have a match despite the weather. We played touch for the first time and the boys did brilliantly. Both teams were strong defensively and quick to make the touch which meant a low scoring game. However, both teams managed to get a few tries past and the game ended 3 – 2.

U9A v St Neot’s

Even in the horrible weather we managed to get a game in vs St Neot’s. The boys defended very well today and when they had the ball they always went forward.

They are really starting to get to grips with the game and how everyone in the team has a role to play.

Tries scored by:

Thomas S *4

Moussa *3

Aryan

Oliver B.

Man of the match went to Thomas. Some incredible stepping and movement throughout.

Thanks to St Neot’s for hosting.

Match Report

HT- 4-3

FT – 7-7

St Edwards got off to a shaky start as a solo run from a St Neots player put them a try up inside just a few minutes, taking advantage of a defensive line that had too many gaps. After this the boys started to talk more, allowing them to keep a strong defensive line. St Edwards then replied with a try of their own, scored by Jonathan.

A back and forwards affair continued throughout the first half, St Neots then went to tries up before Mantra pulled a try back just before half time.

At halftime the lads discussed the importance of a flat line in defence and how important communication was, this then allowed us to come up with a game plan that we played to very well.

During the second half, Jonathan scored another 2 tries and Anirudh scored a couple as well. Finishing the game at 7-7.

MotM – Anirudh. With his leadership he could communicate effectively with his team in both attack and defence. Made multiple cover tackles and knew the correct time to take the touch and when to pass.

U11A v Holme Grange

The U11A team started the season of with a lose and a win on Wednesday vs Holme Grange.

The boys were excellent all afternoon and it’s a good sign of things to come. Musa took a while to get into the game but when he did we was brilliant. Max and Izak tackled well and Owen made a lot of ground every time he got the ball.

However, the best player on the pitch was Jo and and he got man of the match.
