Wednesday 3rd
Colts A v St Neot’s (H)
The Colts A had a very positive afternoon Wednesday beating St Neot’s 3-1. All the boys played well and showed some high levels of ability. Nathan and Max had a solid game at the back along with Jo in goal. Oliver, Dimeji and Louis had good games in midfield but Alex was class up front and got himself a hat trick. Alex was named Man of The Match.

Colts B v St Neot’s (H)
The match against St Neot’s was a fierce competition. St Edward’s got off to a great start scoring early, however, St Neot’s soon struck back. St Edward’s were physically the stronger team and passed the ball well throughout the game. Eventually this became too much for St Neot’s and after being fouled 20m from the goal, Josh PC bent a ‘Ronaldo Style’ free kick in the top corner. St Neot’s came back but Yadveer kept them out and St Edward’s dominated towards the end with Alfred eventually getting the third. St Edward’s 3, St Neot’s 1.

Colts C v St Neot’s (A)
It was a game of two halves at St Neots where St Edward’s were 4-0 down within the first 20 minutes of the game. However steady progress and game awareness helped St Ed’s to recover and they finished the game losing by 4 goals to one.
A fine Man Of The Match performance from Oliver H in goal.

Colts D v St Neot’s (A)
The Colts D team travelled to St Neot’s on Friday and played the best football I have seen from them this season! Isty and Christian ran tirelessly all afternoon to provide attacking options on the wings. Adhrit and Rujul were strong in midfield and controlled the game well. Vashisht and Josh made crucial tackles and cleared the ball from danger. St Neot’s opened the scoring with a low drive that snuck through the gap at the rear post. St Edward’s were quick to respond and soon equalised with a firm shot from Adhrit that the St Neot’s goalkeeper could only slow down. Both sides were keen to attack and midfield battle was fierce. St Neot’s gained the upper hand and managed to restore their one goal lead. St Edward’s were determined to score another goal and continued to attack but were denied a second goal from the solid St Neot’s defence. At the other end the St Edward’s defence were stretched on several occasions but worked hard to prevent St Neot’s from scoring any more goals. The Man of the Match was our goalkeeper, Sanay, whose heroics kept St Neot’s at bay and whose commanding presence in the box gave our defence confidence. Overall, the progress that the Colts D team has made this term has been very impressive. If they continue to work together I am sure that a win will be forthcoming.

Thursday 4th
U11 7v7 Regional Tournament at Elstree School
On Thursday the Colts A went over to Elstree for this year’s Regional football competition.
The boys were placed in the hardest group bud qualified for the quarterfinals.
We came up against a very strong Lambrook side. The match was finally decided on penalties, which Lambrook won, after a 1-1 draw.
The boys played well but on another day could have gone on to win.
Player of the tournament was Oliver.

Friday 5th
U9A v Reddam and St Mary’s (H)
St Edward’s started the game very strong. They were first to the ball and pressed the visitors hard. St Edward’s scored first and everything was going well. However, Reddam came back and scored a goal and St Edward’s let their heads drop. Reddam capitalized on this and managed to score quite a few times. At half time, we assessed the game and realised that if we did a few basic things we could change the way we were playing. The boys did that and soon scored for the second time. Unfortunately, it was too late for a comeback but it was fantastic to see the boys pick themselves up and finish the game with a fantastic positive attitude.

U8A v Reddam and St Mary’s (H)
The U8A team hosted Reddam House on Friday in a very competitive game. We started really well with Thomas scoring twice. Reddam came back into it in the second half scoring two quick goals to make the score 2-2. The boys then kicked in and took back control of the game with Thomas scoring again and then Darsh scoring a 4th. Final score was 4-2. Taig had a very good game in midfield, as did Oliver in goal. Man of The Match in his debut went to Oliver N.
Mr Bovingdon.
