13th September – St Edward’s vs The Oratory Prep School hockey
What great first hockey games for the boys to play! The Oratory School pitches were lovely and both teams worked really hard. The score did not really reflect the end-to-end score of the game but St Edward boys were able to take their chances winning the first game 4-0 and the second 3-1. Well done both teams, a great start to St Edward’s hockey!

15th September – St Edward’s vs Brockhurst
The Under 8s all went to Brockhurst for a football festival on Friday. The As and the Bs all played four different schools and had a great sporting and learning experience. The boys progress has been amazing in just a week and both teams proved they could compete well against other schools recording some good wins and draws as well as some narrow losses. It was a great success and we look forward to playing Brockhurst again in an away fixture this Friday.
Mr Parsons
The U8B team travelled to Brockhurst for a football tournament against St Andrew’s, Thorngrove, Daneshill and the hosts themselves.
The boys acquitted themselves well in the first match losing 2-0 to St Andrew’s, before winning 3-0 against Thorngrove. Goals were scored by Mihai, Daniel and Kai, accompanied by superb play from Felix and Rohan.
A loss to Daneshill followed but the boys ended the tournament with a 0-0 draw against Brockhurst. All of them played very well, but the player of the tournament this time was Mihai. Congratulations to them all.

15th September – St Edward’s vs Holme Grange
Despite a slow start for the U9As on Friday vs Holme Grange, they really got going in the second half and showed some excellent quality all-round the pitch. William had a very good game but Man of the Match went to Joseph for his work rate and his overall ability on the day.

15th September – St Edward’s vs Holme Grange
The St Edward’s under 9B football team played their first home fixture against Holme Grange last Friday. It was an exciting game with both sides playing some fantastic football. The boys from St Edward’s played extremely well, demonstrating some good tackling and passing skills but Holme Grange proved to be the better team with some clinical finishing. In the second half, St Edward’s came close to scoring several times with some good passing and movement off the ball. Had it not been for the heroics of the Holme Grange goalkeeper, St Edward’s would have scored the goal that they thoroughly deserved. At the other end of the pitch some fantastic goalkeeping from Adhri and hefty clearances from Musa kept St Edward’s in the game, but it was the tackling, passing and resilience from Isaac that earned him the Man of the Match award this week!
