U10A v LVS

On Wednesday, the U10A team travelled over to LVS for their fourth fixture of the season. A very strong performance gave us the win. Jacob was on top form, as was Max. Zac rucked well again along with Ollie. The final score was 10-1 and the Man of the Match went to Jacob. Try scorers were:
Alfred
Yadveer
Ollie – 2
Jacob – 3
Dimeji – 2
Zac – 2

U11B v LVS

The U11B team hosted LVS in a very close and exciting rugby match. The boys were delighted to win 7 tries to 6, and it was well deserved.
All the team improved throughout the game and it was great to see several of them score tries. Josef was a very potent attacking force, plus Manaswith and Abeer crossed the line to add to our haul.
At the end, the opposition chose Josef as our Man of the Match, but all the boys should be proud of their efforts.
Well done.
Mr Morgan-Nash.

U11A v LVS

After a draw last week, the team were motivated for a win. They came out really strong from the start: confident, skilful players looking to find the space and keep the ball moving. All players made an excellent contribution, however, a few stood out: Isaac with his try scoring, Thomas who was relentless from the start to the finish, George and Ifeanyi with some excellent forward runs and the Man of the match, James for his excellent attitude, tackling and try scoring. The game finished a convincing win for St Edward’s.
Mr Parsons.

U8A mini tournament

What an improvement the boys have made. This week we played St Andrew’s and Brockhurst in a mini-tournament. The boys have really been working on not running in to touch and it paid dividends. Brockhurst were unable to stop us and we managed to score 6 to their 4. The St Andrew’s game was end to end and finished in a 5-5 draw. Om, Ronit and Luca played a vital part with some excellent running and support play but the man of the match went to Jordan who scored 3 tries and was our best tackler.
Mr Parsons.

U8B mini tournament

The Under 8B rugby team took part in a triangular tournament against Brockhurst and St Andrews. The boys really enjoyed their afternoon of rugby and scored some great tries. In the first match, St Edwards played Brockhurst in a closely fought contest. The boys played some good attacking rugby and worked hard to recycle the ball after being tackled, something that they have been working on in training. Their determination and effort resulted in Felix scoring twice and Mihai squirming over the line to add a third. The Brockhurst team grabbed the victory by a single try, but the boys can be congratulated on their performance and the improvements that they have made this season.
The second match was against a well-organised St Andrew’s team. It was clear from the first whistle that St Edward’s were facing stiff competition, as St Andrew’s were quick to make tackles and pounced on any loose passes. As the game progressed, St Edward’s settled down and were able to make some strong runs thanks to the efforts of Felix and Daniel. Baichen scored the only try of the match for St Edward’s, but St Andrew’s proved to be too strong and were well deserving of their victory.
The man of the match this week for his tireless running, determination and leadership is Felix.
Dr Cane-Honeysett.

U9A&B tournament

On Friday the U9A team played in a tri tournament with St Andrews and Brockhurst. The boys didn’t play their best rugby and unfortunately lost both games by the odd try. Towards the end of the afternoon, they did begin to pick things up but had left themselves too much to do.
The player of the afternoon went to Ethan again for his overall attitude.

The U9B team had another good afternoon of rugby managing to win one and lose one. The boys battled hard and produced the best rugby of their season. Player of the afternoon went to Adrit.
Mr Bovingdon.
