Sports Report Week Commencing 2nd October

4th October – U11C vs St Neot’s

The U11C football team travelled to St Neot’s Prep School and were very unlucky not to come away with the win.
The match was a very even affair and both teams had chances to score, however the first half ended in stalemate.
The second half started in much the same way but an unfortunate error led to St Neots’ first goal. Shaken by this slightly, the St Edward’s boys let their performance drop for the next couple of minutes and this was all the opposition needed to score a second.
A late flurry from St Edward’s was not enough to get us on the score sheet, so the match finished 2-0 to St Neot’s.
Yadveer was superb in goal once more and many of the boys impressed, however Nathan was by far and away the best player on the pitch and fully deserves to be Man of the Match.

Mr Morgan-Nash.

4th October – U10A vs St Neot’s

On Wednesday the U10A played vs St Neots. Josef was quality in goal and the Louis and Oliver took their chances well to give us a 2-0 lead at half time. St Neots came out strong in the second half but Alex and man of the match Max, showed their class and kept the attacks out with the support of Jacob.
The boys are really showing improvement and won against a very good St Neots team.

5th October – ISFA Tournament

On Thursday the Colts A side went over to Elstree for the regional Independent football tournament. We knew it was going to be a long and hard afternoon of football. This however didn’t phase the boys. They managed to come second in their group beating Orchard House 2-0 (Goals from Louis and Dimeji) losing 2-1 to Cothill House (goal scored by Ifeanyi) and went on to beat St Neot’s 2-1 (a wonder goal from Max and the second by Louis). We then qualified for the next round and came up against Thorngrove. The boys battled well and Louis and Dimeji scored again to draw the game 2-2. We then went to penalty’s. Dimeji, Louis, Oliver and Max all scored and Tom managed to save two, to put us through to the next round. We came up against a very strong Lambrook side that had beaten all the teams prior by 5 or more goals. We put in our best performance of the day but were out classed by the year 6 team from Lambrook.
The boys can be very proud of their attitude and performance during the afternoon.
Player of the tournament went to Dimeji.

6th October – U8A vs Reddam House

Another great game for St Edward’s prep under 8As. They really proved they have trained hard by winning 3-0 against Reddam House. A fantastic whole team effort.

6th October – U9A vs Reddam House

The U9A team had a very good game vs Reddam house winning 7-3. Four goals for Izak and 3 for Man of the match, Jo. It was a close game at times but we battled well to win the game. Well done boys!
