Colts A v Holme Grange and St Andrew’s
What an amazing afternoon of football for the Colts A team! We played two games during the afternoon and the first was a very tight and hard fought victory vs St Andrew’s. Nathan was class at the back with Dimeji and Oliver was pulling the strings in midfield. Josh got us off to a quick start with a very good finish. Oliver got the second which made the score 2-2. Jo made some top draw saves in goal and with time running out, Jacob managed to get pass the last man and score the winner. Final score 3-2 to St Edward’s!
The second game was also very tight and Louis made light work of marking Holme Grange’s best player. Again, Oliver had a good game in midfield and Jo showed his class in goal. We managed to sneak a 2-0 win and end the afternoon with two very good results. Goals were scored by Louis and Josh. It was hard to award one Man of The Match so I decided to give it to the whole team. Special mention has to go to Josh as he stepped up to the A team and didn’t look out of place.
Mr Bovingdon.

Colts B v Holme Grange and St Andrew’s
The Colts B played two games this week in a triangular against Holme Grange and St Andrew’s. St Edward’s had lost two of their players to the A Team so it was time for some new players to step up and they did. The whole team worked so hard and fought from the first whistle to the last. We beat St Andrew’s 2-0 and drew with a very strong Holme grange 1-1. Owen, Yadveer and Zach all gave their best performances of the season against the toughest opposition we have faced. Great work boys! Man of the triangular was Zach for his outstanding defending and goal line clearance that stopped us from losing.
Mr Parsons.

Colts C v Holme Grange and St Andrew’s
Took part in a triangular tournament at Holme Grange playing against the host and St Andrew’s. Both games were evenly contested winning by 1-0 against St Andrew’s and losing by the same margin to the host.
St Ed’s defended well in both games with a solid display from Aedan who was a worthy Man of The tournament.
Mr Jones.

Colts D v Holme Grange and St Andrew’s

On Wednesday, the St Edward’s Colts D team travelled to Holme Grange to participate in a triangular tournament. The boys faced tough opposition in Holme Grange and St Andrew’s respectively but they played some excellent football during both fixtures and displayed great determination throughout the afternoon. Joshua made some timely tackles and strong clearances to deny the opposition attacks, Adhrit controlled the midfield and played some excellent passes to our forwards, Christian and Isty gave our team options out wide, Max was tireless up front and came close to scoring on a couple of occasions. It was Sanay however, that was the Man of the Match for his excellent goalkeeping. He controlled his area extremely well, cutting out crosses and making strong clearances. All of the team played some great football and it has been a pleasure to see the improvement they have made over the course of this season. In the end they suffered narrow losses against both opposition teams, but the confidence they showed on the ball, the effort they put in and the techniques that they demonstrated was a real credit to them. Well done boys!
Dr Cane-Honeysett.

U8A v St George’s
The U8A lost a tough fixture vs St George’s Friday 5-1. We really didn’t get going and they took advantage of that. Our goal was scored by Anirudh and Man of The Match went to Atharva.
Mr Bovingdon.

U8B v St George’s
The U8Bs played against a very good St George’s team unfortunately going down 4-0.
Encouraging performances from the team especially the two Year 2 boys Max and Alex who was player of the match.

U8C v St George’s
U8C lost in a very close in-counter vs St George’s 1-0. Jishnu and Mert had good games but Man of The Match went Jacob in goal. They boys battled hard but unfortunately, they couldn’t get the win.
