Watch out, there is a dinosaur on the loose!

Last week the reception boys found a basket of dinosaur bones in the classroom and excitedly explored where they thought they had come from and which part of the dinosaur they were from. Talk about whether they were carnivores or herbivores resulted when they found teeth in the basket.

Dinosaur eggs were made and the boys made nests outside, thinking carefully of the materials they needed to use and how to keep the eggs protected and warm. Safe hiding places were found, obviously keeping the eggs apart, as we did not want any of the dinosaurs eating each other when they hatched. To keep the nest safe the boys made warning signs to make sure everyone kept away from the nests.

However, when we checked today 3 of the eggs (the ice eggs) had hatched, “because the sun is out and it is warm today” commented one of the boys. But we could only find 2 baby dinosaurs and one empty nest!

So, if you happen to see a dinosaur around the school can you please let the Reception boys know and they will be able to rescue it and put it in Dinoland in their classroom.
