Year 6 Success – Celebrating Our 2026 Leavers
Last week, we said a final farewell to our Year 6 pupils as they prepare to take the next steps in their education adventures. We are incredibly proud of their hard work and dedication during their time at St Edward’s, which has earned them places at an impressive selection of senior schools across Reading, Oxford and High Wycombe.
Their results are a testament to the expert preparation programme developed by our staff, providing guidance, support and academic challenge throughout their time with us.
11+ Achievements – Grammar School and Scholarships
This year, 36% of our Year 6 class were eligible for Reading Grammar, with pupils awarded places both there and at the outstanding John Hampden Grammar. We are also delighted to see pupils achieving a record number of scholarships, including:
- Reading Blue Coat – Academic and Art Scholarships
- Leighton Park School – Academic (Maths) Scholarship
- Magdalen College School – Academic Scholarship
Pupils also received scholarships from The Oratory School, Pangbourne College and Abingdon School, as well as a selection of offers from excellent state schools.
Personal Development – Excellence Beyond the Classroom
In addition to their academic achievements, we also celebrated their amazing personal development and the opportunities they have taken to step into the spotlight.
- Leadership – embracing roles such as House Captain and Head Boy and Girl.
- Sporting success – supporting teams to victory and earning Player of the Year awards.
- Music and Drama talent – taking lead roles in productions, passing LAMDA exams with flying colours and performing regularly in front of pupils and parents.
We would like to say a very big congratulations to all of them and wish them the best of luck in September. We are looking forward to hearing all about their senior school adventues.
