Considering Future Cities
What a great time the St Edward’s boys had when they visited Reading. The trip started in Forbury Gardens where we considered the importance of green space in a city and who and why people used it. We then escaped the rain by going to The Oracle and considered the importance of Shopping Centres in a town like Reading and if they would be a part of a future city. However, the best was left to last when we were warmly welcomed by Northwood Investors into The Blade. We were treated with amazing hospitality and shown how the building operates. We had a conference call in the boardroom, viewed Reading in all its glory from the room and even had a chance to see a company’s vision for Reading in 2050 when we visited Barton Willmore’s amazing offices. It was amazing and the boys really got to think about what they would have in their future cities. A huge thank you to Charlotte, Megan, Mark and Kevin from Northwood Investors for showing us around and enabling us to gain an understanding of what it is like to run and work in such a futuristic building.
Mr Parsons.
