Healthy Hearts

Year 2 were lucky enough to be visited by cardiologist Dr McKenna. Equipped with years of knowledge, a model heart and stent equipment Dr McKenna came ready to answer all of Year 2’s questions.

Our pupils found out all about what makes our hearts happy and what makes our hearts sad. Diet, lifestyle, exercise and even loneliness! They then got to examine Dr McKenna’s stent equipment under their magnifier glasses to see the tiny balloon which is used to make room for the stent, a tiny tube shape device a bit like scaffolding!

Year 2 know exactly what to do to keep their hearts happy and healthy now!
