U10s vs Brockhurst 4-8

Man of the match: Owen

On a bitterly cold day the under 10s acquitted themselves well against a strong Brockhurst opposition. Lawale continued his scoring streak with a fine solo effort to open the score and had a second before half time to go in at the break 4-2 down. In the second half the St Edwards boys battled hard not only against the opposition but the biting cold and should be commended for their resolve in horrible conditions. Joseph scored a cracking jinking effort and the game was finished well by Owen who arced a fine run to score in the middle of the park.

Man of the match went to the team.

The U11As bounced back this week with a very impressive performance vs Brockhurst.
All the team played out of their skins, on what was a very cold and wet afternoon.
It was great to have Zac back and he made a big difference in balls won.
Jacob was back to himself with 2 tries. The second was the pick of the afternoon with a kick over to himself.
Dimeji got himself another try and Alex bundled his way over the line with 3 Brockhurst boys on his back.
Max was class in defence alongside Haider.

U8As vs St Neot’s

Man of the Match:

U8Bs vs St Neot’s

Man of the Match: Alex O

The St Edward’s U8B rugby team played against St Neot’s at Sulhamstead on Friday. Both teams played some excellent attacking rugby and displayed great determination. St Neot’s opened the scoring but St Edward’s were quick to respond and equalised with a try of their own thanks to a strong run from Alex, who broke through two tackles before crossing the try line. St Neot’s threatened to score again but were stopped by the St Edward’s resolute defence. St Edward’s then had the opportunity to take the lead but unfortunately ran the ball into touch before crossing the try line. They were left ruing their chances as St Neot’s once again broke through the St Edward’s defence to re-take the lead. St Neot’s then increased their lead shortly afterwards capitalizing on a St Edward’s handling error. The St Edward’s boys worked hard to equalise with Toby and Isaac each scoring tries but they could not quite draw level, with the match finishing 8-6 to St Neot’s. The Man of the Match was Alex O. His distribution of the ball was excellent and he showed a good turn of speed when attacking, evading several tackles, to score two crucial tries.
