Team: Joseph, Adhrit, Sanay, Isti, Musa, Isaac, Owen, Nag, Max, Izak
Scorers: Joseph, Owen, Izak *3
Man of the Match: Sanay

On a blustery day off the A33 the U10s put on a solid show against a well drilled Daneshill side. At half time the scores were level and with Daneshill able to roll on sub after sub, they pulled away to win 8-5. Sanay excelled with some fine link play throughout.

U9A vs Daneshill
Team: Kai, Dylan, Luca, Luke, Jordan, Ronit
MOM: Luke ‘the tackle machine’ Hope
In tough and windy conditions at Sulhamstead the U9s toiled away but were beaten by a strong Daneshill set up.
Although they kept possession well for long periods of time in the first half, they could not hold out the opposition and force them to the 6 tackle limit.
In the second half the defensive effort improved and the ferocity of the St Edward’s defence kept them at bay for much longer periods

U9B vs Daneshill
On Friday the St Edward’s Under 9B rugby team hosted Daneshill at Sulhamstead. Unfortunately, the game was a bit one-sided with the opposition proving to be just too strong and organised for the St Edward’s boys who played with good spirit and showed glimpses of real skill. At the end of the first half, St Edward’s were trailing but had scored a vital try which boosted their confidence. The second half was much more competitive with both teams showing great attacking rugby and trading tries fairly evenly. The game finished with Daneshill as worthy winners but St Edward’s should take credit for their determination and resilience. They never gave up and scored some excellent tries. Karthik scored two tries in his first ever match for St Edward’s, Daniel made some excellent attacking runs and crucial tackles, but it was Mihai that was this week’s Man of the Match for showing tremendous strength in the tackle, bursting through the Daneshill defence on two occasions to score. His attitude and technique when tackling was inspirational and his distribution of the ball set up many St Edward’s attacks. Well done Mihai!
