U8a v Dolphin
Max, Harrison, Arshmaan, Alex, Gabriel, Adam, Lewis
The u8a came out second best in a tightly fought affair against Dolphin. St Edward’s took the lead mid-way through the first half, with Max slotting the ball into the corner. Dolphin then struck back with a quick double before the half time whistle.
In the second half St Edward’s battled back and Max struck again to even the scores up. With time running down however, Dolphin scored from long range and the lads couldn’t get back on even terms.
Under 9s Vs Dolphin
The teams were mixed up in this as dolphin only had one team so our boys had to play a half for each team.
Moussa was a standout performer in the first half with some great tackles and recovery play to win the ball back and then give it to a player in a better position. He capped off his superb performance with a very good strike that took a deflection to wrong foot the goalkeeper.
Anirudh then added another with a very good goal after everyone stopped expecting the whistle but he carried on and ‘played to the whistle’ superbly to score.
The second half started with Dolphin drawing a goal back to make it 2-1.
Jishnu made several very good saves between the sticks in the second half and Dolphin would have had more if it wasn’t for Jishnu making some outstanding saves.
Thomas then scored right on the stroke of full time after winning the ball back high up the pitch and using his left foot put it past the keeper to add and third and give us the 3-1 victory.
1st Half Moussa
2nd Half Jishnu
