Sports Report Week Commencing 5th February

In-house Rugby Tournament – 8th February

On Thursday 8th Feb, St Edward’s held its very first Prep School House Rugby competition. Many parents came along to support their boys in what was a very exciting afternoon of rugby.
The skill levels that the boys displayed showed how much improvement they have made this term. All boys put 100% effort into their House matches and it was a joy to be a part of this. Years 3 and 4 played touch, with the winning team being St George’s. Years 5 and 6 played contact and their result had to be settled with a ‘Golden Try’, which was scored by this year’s winners, St Patrick’s.
A big thank you to all those involved in helping the afternoon run smoothly and to the boys who made it such a success.

Final standings:
1st: St George’s
2nd: St Andrew’s
3rd: St Patrick’s
4th: St David’s

U8A v Reddam House – 9th February

The U8as got off to a great start with confident running and scoring tries from the first whistle. However, we were finding it difficult to get our tags in and Reddam kept matching us try for try. We realised we needed to get our defence in order and the boys adjusted well and applied good pressure. This forced errors from the opponents and we finished the match with 19 tries to their 17!

U9A v Reddam House – 9th February

On Friday, the U9A team hosted Reddam house U9A at Sulhamstead. The game was very tight and the boys worked hard in defence. After a slow start, the boys started to show their class scoring 4 tries in the first half; two for Jo, one each for Owen and for Ethan. The second half was a lot closer and Jo managed to score again. Final score 5-1. Man of the match was Isaac for his hard work in defence and attack.
