Colts A vs St George’s

It was a tough afternoon for the Colts A, losing 6-3 to St George’s. After a very good week last week, the boys struggled this week. We found ourselves 5-0 down at half time. Jo was very good in goal again but our defence wasn’t quick enough to help. Oliver managed to get us back in the game with two quick goals followed by a goal from Max. However, this wasn’t enough and we finished off losing the first game of the season. Man of the match went to Oliver.

Colts B vs St George’s
St Edward’s played an excellent match against St George’s. They were confident from the start and Owen managed to score an impressive team goal within the first 5 minutes. St George’s were no pushovers though and our defence worked hard with Zach having another great game. Out of nowhere before the half time whistle, Aniket managed to poach a goal and another at the start of the second half. To St George’s credit, this motivated them more and they came back to 3-2. St Edward’s regrouped and were able to hold out for the victory. Man of the match goes to Vashisht for remaining composed in midfield and creating some excellent opportunities for his teammates.

Colts C vs St George’s
On Wednesday, the Colts C team played against St George’s at Sulhamstead. The teams were evenly matched and some good football was played by both sides. Much of the match was played in midfield with the teams battling for possession. When St Edward’s were able to play the ball out wide they looked dangerous and created several goal scoring opportunities. However, St George’s broke the deadlock with a long clearance into the path of an attacker who rounded the goalie to score. St Edward’s continued to play attacking football in search of an equaliser but lacked composure in front of goal. They were left ruing their missed opportunities when a St George’s counter attack resulted in a goal in the last minute of the match. The final score was 2-0 to St George’s. The St Edward’s man of the match was Rujul for his excellent attacking play, confidence on the ball and superb passing to set up our chances.

Under 9A vs LVS
The A teamed played really well against LVS. The teams were evenly matched but LVS had a few players that could kick the ball hard and long. That was the difference really. Our boys put in a great team performance but could not get the ball in the net despite a number of good efforts. Men of the match were Luca and Ronit.
