Colts C/D vs Dolphin

The Colts C team travelled to Dolphin and played in what proved to be a very close game. St Edward’s started the stronger of the two teams and put pressure on the Dolphin defence from the first whistle. Jashan made some excellent passes in the midfield and Aniket was a constant threat up front. St Edward’s scored two goals without reply in the first half through Aniket, but could have scored several more. They were denied by the post and some desperate defending from Dolphin. St Edward’s started the second half searching for a third goal, but Dolphin’s half-time talk had clearly worked as they were much more organised in defence and St Edward’s could not get through. Dolphin started to look dangerous on the counter attack and their efforts were soon rewarded with a goal. This lifted their confidence and it was St Edward’s that were on the back foot. With two minutes to go, Dolphin scored from a corner as the St Edward’s defence was slow to clear their lines. The match finished 2-2 and St Edward’s were left ruing their missed opportunities. The Man of the Match for his tireless effort in midfield and timely tackles was Musa.

U8A vs St Andrews

The U8A team had a very competitive afternoon of football vs St Andrews. The boys played very well in the first half and found themselves 1-0 up at half time thanks to thunder strike from Thomas S.
The second half was very different. The boys made a few mistakes which gave St Andrews the chance to get back into the game.
Each week the boys are learning and improving and will go on to win close games like Friday but this time the final score was 3-1 to St Andrews.
Man of The Match went to Jonathan.

U8C vs St Andrews

The St Edward’s Under 8 C team played against St Andrew’s at Sulhamstead. The boys played really well together and put into practise what we have been training in coaching sessions, but St Andrew’s proved to be too strong. Mert ran tirelessly all afternoon and came close to scoring on several occasions. Jishnu made some good tackles and passed the ball with confidence, but it was Tom who was awarded Man of The Match this week. His concentration and reading of the game has really improved throughout the term and he was not afraid to get stuck in. His throw-ins proved to be extremely difficult for the St Andrew’s defence to deal with and almost resulted in a goal. Well done to all of the boys for their effort and resilience against a tough opposition!

U9A v St Andrews

The A team played and amazing game they held St Andrew’s off for almost all the first half before conceding two before half time. However, they fought really hard and managed to get a goal back as well as creating many scoring chances. Luke, Dylan and Ronit were excellent and Kai and Jordan showed how much they have improved over the season. Dylan managed to score a net busting goal from and excellent pass from Ronit but Man of The Match goes to Luca this week for many amazing saves. End score 4-1.

U9B v St Andrews

It is always a pleasure to play St Andrew’s and to see Mr Mortimore again. Today was a day of pride for St Edward’s. We didn’t win but we really showed it’s not all about winning. The Bs went down but fought hard and managed to get a couple of goals back and demonstrated great resilience. Outstanding performances from Mihai and Baichen who were men of the match.
