The Lind Smith Speech Competition
The Lind Smith Speech Competition was, once again, a brilliant opportunity for the boys to express themselves. Preliminary rounds took place during our English lessons culminating in seven boys chosen for the final competition. The speeches were both varied and exceptionally well delivered. All the boys spoke clearly and passionately about their subject. Topics ranged from the sporting world of Quidditch; the art of playing Fortnite, Battle Royale; the idea that Maths is all around us; why cycle lanes are not fit for purpose in Reading; the meanings of our names; the story of Zach’s brother, Ned and Ronit’s humorous speech about words. It was a most entertaining morning and all the boys impressed the panel of judges with their public speaking skills. Many congratulations to our winner! We look forward to hearing his speech during our Speech Day celebrations.
