Year 2 went to the woods to check on their Stickmen!

We had a wonderful time in the woods, discovering how our Stickmen had fared since we built the houses and we were delighted to discover that they were all relaxed in their beds and undisturbed!

We decided to explore the woods further and enjoyed ourselves finding out what happens to a tree when it has fallen over, exploring the root systems and digging in the clay which had been scooped up from the ground beneath it when it fell. We tested our balance on the trunk which lay horizontally and looked closely at the branches. We then climbed an adjacent tree to look down on the felled giant. A rubber tyre was located and we tested forces by rolling it down the slope.
