Calling all budding chefs!
Last week was Anti-bullying week and all boys heard about and discussed bullying in assembly and PSHEE. Pupils were given a leaflet to take home that outlines what bullying is, who to tell if they feel they are being bullied and what to do if they see bullying happening in the school. Please take the time to go through this with your son as this is an area we all need to work together in.
The boys also found out about an exciting way they can support the Bullies Out charity from our Chef, Linda. The catering team are supporting Anti-Bullying week and serving our community by creating a St Edward’s Cook Book. Linda will be coordinating the St Edward’s Cook book which will be available for pupils and parents to buy in the Spring term. The books will be sold for a small profit and the proceeds will be go to support the Bullies Out Charity.
What do the boys have to do?
If pupils want to be involved, they are to send in favourite recipes to the office, a picture of the dish and a picture of them electronically to add to the cook book. Alternatively, a manual copy could be sent in. The recipes will not only go into the book but, where possible, form part of our menu and be served for the boys at break and lunch times.
In addition to the recipe, boys can design a front cover for the book. This is a separate competition and the winning entry will become the cover for the St Edward’s book with the winner receiving a cook book from a known chef.
St Edward’s boys amaze me with their understanding of bullying and really are committed to ensuring our school is as safe a place as possible and they are understanding their responsibilities to our community more and more every day. I thank you in advance for playing your part in our family through your support this anti-bullying week.
