It could be argued that the above few words have absolutely nothing to do with Verbal Reasoning but, in a few minutes, nouns, verbs, adverbs of manner along with alliteration have been demonstrated, and if success in verbal reasoning depends on having a good understanding of the English language, along with its rules and patterns, then we are on our way! Verbal Reasoning tests a wide range of competencies and can be regarded by many secondary schools as a reliable indicator of potential academic ability. Here at St Edward’s, we enjoy our verbal reasoning lessons, they are fast-paced and action-packed and we cover a smorgasbord of skills from alphabetical order and word definitions to logical thinking and problem solving.
