Happy Holi!

Holi, is the traditional Hindu festival which celebrates the beginning of spring as well as the triumph of good over evil. Celebrated by thousands of people, it is best known around the world for the powder that revellers throw on each other, leaving festival-goers coated in colour by the end of the day.
Although the festival originated in India and is still widely celebrated there as a religious festival, it has been adopted in many places around the world.
Our Little Griffins and Reception classes celebrated the festival on Thursday 21st March by smearing each other with paint, and throwing coloured powder and dye around in an atmosphere of great good humour.
Holi is popularly known as the Indian “festival of spring”, the “festival of colours”, or the “festival of love”. The festival signifies the arrival of spring, the end of winter, the blossoming of love, and for many a festive day to meet others, play and laugh, forget and forgive. The festival also celebrates the beginning of a good spring harvest season.
Our students loved learning all about Holi, it’s history, significance and of course joining in the celebrations!
