Wednesday’s Fixtures
U10s vs Thorngrove
An absolutely excellent performance from the U10 on Wednesday afternoon. Unfortunately, they came up 1 point short in an evenly matched game.
Despite going 3 tries down early in the first half St Eds fought back and went in at half time 6-6. The half was typified by a try so fluid it would have been at home at Twickenham.
The second half was an equal affair with Isaac and Ahmed linking play, however the home team came out on top with a late score to settle it.
Despite the tries being shared evenly by Izak and Joseph at 5 apiece, the man of the match was Max W who tackled superbly throughout.

U11A vs Thorngrove
The U11A had a very convincing win over Throngrove on Wednesday, winning 9-2. The boys played some excellent rugby and offloaded the ball in every tackle. Jacob had another good game scoring 3 tries, Dimeji, Oliver and Louis got one each and man of the match Max, also got 3 tries. All the boys are starting to play some very good and exciting rugby and we look forward to next week’s fixture.

U11B vs Thorngrove
The U11Bs were excited to be playing again after some bad weather had halted play on more than one occasion. They were fantastic from beginning to end. Effort from the whole team was excellent and all players made an excellent contribution to the game. St Edward’s quickly established themselves as the better team but displayed a fine sporting attitude making it a good game for both teams and everyone left the field feeling they had achieved something. Tries from Nathan, Josh PC, Aniket and Josh M secured the game for us but man of the match was Aedan for his constant effort and ability to win the ball back for St Edward’s. Well done boys a fantastic win.

Friday’s Fixtures
Under 8A vs Reddam
It all clicked in to place today. The boys went from strength to strength and played some fantastic rugby. They were much better organised and passed the ball really well. Taig and Thomas S both finished 2 tries and should be commended, however, the team were fantastic and everyone played a part. Final score 4-1 to St Edward’s. Man of the match Moussa for some excellent passing and defence.

U8B vs Reddam
On a wet and windy Friday afternoon, the Under 8B rugby team travelled to Reddam House to play their fixture. Despite the weather conditions and the slippery playing surface, the boys played some excellent rugby and put in an outstanding performance to record an emphatic win against a talented opposition. The game got off to the best of starts as St Edward’s scored with their first attacking run of the afternoon. Reddam House were able to equalize shortly afterwards but then the game went St Edward’s way for the rest of the first half. Strong runs from Aryan and Jishnu, breaking through the Reddam House’s defensive line set up tries for Isaac and Alex respectively. Resolute defending and disciplined tackling from St Edward’s caused the home team to turn over the ball several times and kept the pressure up. At half-time, St Edward’s were several tries ahead and were playing their best rugby of the season so far. During the second half the focus was switched to passing the ball on the move enabling our wingers to become more involved in the game. Toby and Darsh made some excellent runs and were unlucky not to score tries of their own, but their efforts and excellent team play saw them set up tries for their team-mates. Aryan was a thorn in the Reddam House side all afternoon, making darting runs, slipping through tackles and scoring several tries. He was fully deserving of this week’s Man of the Match but credit must go to the entire team. They put into practise what they had been taught in games afternoons and were just too strong for their opponents. Well done boys!

U9 vs Reddam
The U9 team had an excellent 9-5 victory over Reddam House on Friday. The boys were first class all afternoon and represented the school to the highest standard. This was shown on and off the field. During the game, all the boys played to their best ability and worked hard as a team. Jordan dominated the first half with his forward runs helped by Ronit. All the boys were looking to offload the ball when ever possible and this helped with our forward momentum.
Luca managed to get 5 tries, Luke got 3 and Dylan managed to get himself a try.
Man of the match goes to the whole year group for a very good afternoon of sport.
