Year 3 have been using the book ‘Float’ by Daniel Miyares as inspiration for their writing this term. As the book has no words, boys are using ideas from ‘The Write Stuff’ to write the story themselves.
They are learning all kinds of grammar terms as they go, including adjectives, adverbs, similes, onomatopoeia and personification.
Of course, being Year 3, it isn’t all theory work. They have made paper boats, following the instructions at the beginning of the book and had a go at sailing them in a puddle and along a river. But will they get to smell and taste some warming hot chocolate when we reach the end of the story…?
They’ll have to wait and see.
