As this Thursday draws closer there is a feeling of growing excitement and anticipation amongst the children, staff, parent association and our community that we will be able to become the Guinness World Record holders for the longest sentence made out of plastic bottles. We hope to beat the current record of a sentence containing 2560 bottles held in a shopping centre in Dubai.

It's always helpful at this planning stage to reach out to our community for help, ideas and expertise and we had the pleasure of Mrs Rhiannon Gibbs from Ad Esse Consulting joining us yesterday.

Each half term here at St Edward’s Prep we focus on a whole school theme and this half term we are excited to announce that the topic will be ‘Our Planet’. Guided by their class teachers the children will be using this theme to research and formulate questions they would like to investigate and then choose how to present their findings to their classmates and peers. To kick off ‘Our Planet’ theme we were very fortunate to have Mr Peter Milne join us on Thursday to run workshops at school for all our year groups.

Each day at our Little Griffins Nursery brings something new and exciting for our children and as they arrive they place their coats and bags on to their named pegs and remember to pop their water bottle at the water station ready to access them whenever they need to.

What a reason to celebrate in Assembly this morning during our weekly Sports round up. One of our pupils at St Edward’s Prep had a very exciting weekend last weekend and he stood up to tell us all about it!

As the Nursery children walk maturely up the path back to their classroom after break time with their friends, they are greeted by a calm, warm and smiling Mrs Turner directing them to the carpet ready for their morning glass of milk.

It is lovely to see all our children back in school excited to see their friends, get to know their new form teachers and to continue on their learning journeys.

As you walk in to the Year 1 classroom, the warm, nurturing and caring nature of Miss Clark teaching her pupils and the quiet, calm and happy environment that prevails is immediately obvious.

Wherever you are around the School the sound of happy, enthusiastic children having fun playing sport along with the positive feedback and shouts of encouragement from Mr Bovingdon can be heard.
